Join us to learn more about the Black Panther Party and the prolific art, revolutionary spirit, and ongoing social justice work of world-renowned graphic artist Dr. Emory Douglas. This is a kick-off event for the opening of the first and only permanent exhibition of Dr. Douglas’s artwork in the world—right here at the College of Marin!  

Dr. Emory Douglas is the Veteran Revolutionary Artist and Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party. His iconic artwork, which appeared on the covers and pages of the Black Panther Newspaper, was the visual mouthpiece and cultural aesthetic of Black Panther Party, its politics, and programs. Dr. Douglas’s art has been exhibited in galleries around the world, including the October 2023 exhibit The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas: Black Liberation, Global Justice at the College of Marin Fine Arts Gallery.
