College of Marin Library and the Umoja Equity Institute have been partnering for a year-long anti-racism, anti-censorship project focused on The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story by Nicole Hannah-Jones. As part of Spring 2023 Convocation, Dr. Pedro Noguera, distinguished Professor of Education and Emery Stoops and Joyce King Stoops Dean at the University of Southern California's Rossiter School of Education, addressed the "missing chapter" of systemic racism in education from The 1619 Project.
